Re: N. Korea Threatens Attack on S. Korea
Yalu river bridge from the Chinese side looking into North Korea, the bridge was Bombed during The Korean War by the US to stop the flow of troops and supplies from China. The first Iron bridge over the Yalu, built by the Japanese during their occupation, left damaged as a war memorial by the Chinese. Photos taken last year on my visit.

With the AK or leaning on the railing? Yeah, that's me leaning on the railing, that's N.Korea behind me in the distance. Can you see that ferris wheel? The "Leader" built it to show the Chinese what a paradise he has...The local Chinese sys it never moves... |

Re: N. Korea Threatens Attack on S. Korea
Syria is a whole different situation..... Its basically a civil war, and despite what McCain says we have no real idea of who the rebels are.... Sure Assad is a ruthless cocksucker, but the replacement could be a whole lot worse towards us.... Not our job to police the world and pay for it. The UN doesn't work anymore, because everybody has used it towards their own goals politically. People have a distrust of the US because in recent years we have invaded country's on false pretexts... it has to do with people asking why we give some dictators credibility, arms, and trade with them and then invade others on the pretext of supporting freedom & humanitarian reasons. |

Re: N. Korea Threatens Attack on S. Korea
It was a great time! The Chinese think the N. Korean leadership is nuts too, some of them STILL have family over there and have finally gotten permission for day trips to visit. It's kinda like the Berlin wall was or Cuba to this day, the wars and political issues impact families for years and years after the original event. Most Chinese aren't card carrying communists either, just like many of us claim to be Democrats or Republicans but hardly anybody attends the local chapters monthly meetings, we are that political party in name only. China should quit supporting this guy, just like the USA should have quit propping up Dictators in the middle east years ago, it's going to take a hundred years of governments, wars and revolutions by the people to finally settle that region, just like it took multiple revolutions and world wars to stabilize MOST of Europe and the USA over a period of many years. |
