Re: Mubarak Resigns, Hands Power to Military
i knew it was an eventuality, i just didn't see it happening this fast. so far it's been "fairly" bloodless. yes, fairly. it will never feel that way to those who lost family members and friends of course. and i do say "so far". this is not the end, it's not over.

Re: Mubarak Resigns, Hands Power to Military
did he really step down? we didn't see that speech. pretty sure he was forced out. doesn't matter much i suppose, it was going down that way. it would be VERY interesting to know who forced him out. on second thought, it does matter. we DO need to know who is pulling strings.

Re: Mubarak Resigns, Hands Power to Military
What does the change in Egypt mean for the United States? Mubarak's resignation and the uncertainty facing Egypt are serious issues for American foreign policy. Mubarak's Egypt was a longstanding American ally that cooperated with the United States on a long list of issues, ranging from combating terrorism to assisting U.S. military operations in the Middle East to helping secure shipping lanes to facilitating Arab-Israeli negotiations. The tectonic shift going on in Egypt, and in the broader Middle East, may have dramatic effects on the future price of oil, the extent of American regional influence, Israeli security, and a host of other key questions. With Egypt in a state of transition, the United States might see some of its interests suffer and some remain secure. Whatever ultimately happens in Egypt, the process has only just begun. The fate of America's regional influence and its diplomatic, economic and military ties to the Middle East is a part of that process. just an exerpt from this article: http://lnk.ms/KX9Zx |

i trust them about as far as i can throw them. here's a cut and paste off of their own website. they are a violent group just like all of the rest of them. honestly, hell is too damn good for these bastards. Hamas restored palestinians" dignity The Deputy Chairman of the MB concluded his interview by stressing that Hamas had played a vital role in redeeming the dignity of the Palestinian people, by directing painful strikes at the Israeli occupying forces, thereby shattering its security doctrine and causing it human casualties, an economic slowdown and reduced touristic activity within the Zionist state. |
