2) Leadership in the freedom of women? Let's see. Every attempt to wrest control of autonomy in Iran has been thwarted by Western intelligence. Same goes for many other countries in the Middle East. Women were just as free in Iran as they were in America under the Shah. Want proof? Please, look at pictures from the time. Women were and still are (under Islamic Republic, which is hilarious by the way) more educated than men in Iran and many are doctors and engineers. During the Shah's time, women wore whatever they wanted and the ones from more forward thinking families married whoever they wanted, followed their careers, and were generally free. So let's stop saying it's Islam as Iran was mostly Muslim then, too. You're blanketing an entire region and ignoring that much of Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, etc. had Zoroastrian, Manichaean, Christian roots. You see a few videos from Afghanistan and assume that anyone with olive skin is a misogynist.

3) I'm not going to argue with the technology aspect. Civilizations ebb and flow. Remember when Europe was in the Dark Ages and you guys were wiping your asses with your hands that the Middle East introduced Algebra, made advances into what would become Physics, had great engineering and architectural prowess, systems of administration, flourishing trade, and was leaps ahead in sciences and arts :)

Right now, there's no doubt the West is the industrial leader of the world and just like back then when the Europeans adopted Islamic discovered technologies and ideas, right now the Middle East is adopting those from the West. And back then we're talking about the Caliphate which was more extreme than today ;-)

4) All Islamic countries? Please tell me a bit about Syria (before this Western overthrown nonsense)? Syria was modern and its people were forward thinking and robust. It was secular and liberal. Tell me about Lebanon, where people all over the world know it as a bastion of high culture with a thriving economy and rich past? Let's not take wars and coups and make them the entire portrait of a people. There are reasons behind political upheavals and the main reason now is world dependence on Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, and Kuwait for oil- and before you say "US has its own oil in Alaska, blah blah blah" I'd like to remind you that no empire would use its own resources when it can get them for cheap from weaker people.

5) We do try to take responsibility for ourselves. Where were you in 2009? The Green Movement? Millions were on the streets in Iran and Obama kept himself quiet, he even offered to negotiate with the Islamic regime and acknowledge its sovereignty. This all while Iran was fighting for a homegrown democratic movement. What about in the early 1990's when Iraqi Shi'ites were encouraged to demand their rights from Saddam, promised that the US would help, but left to die when Saddam began killing them? Haha. Kurds, too? Those poor bastards are given false promises by the powerful countries all the time who sit back and watch as Turkey, Iraq, and Iran kill them one by one. Look at India and how it took DECADES to wrest its independence from the UK, and this only happened when Indian resources were seen as less important than the ones in the Middle East. The UK is a tiny, resourceless island who was forced to develop a large navy to secure its colonies who brought it resources. That's how it became an empire. Otherwise it would be dependent on imports for its entire life and would be constant fighting between its ethnic groups. How about you acknowledge that Middle Easterners- Muslims, Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Bahais, have been trying just as hard to take responsibility- fighting, in fact, because they don't have the resources and carefree attitude that the comfortable powerful countries have- for centuries. Read about the many revolts such as the Tobacco revolts, the Constitutional revolts, the nationalist movements in Iran and Iraq since the late 1700's. There's a moment where you reach an understanding that politics is dirty and everyone has blood on their hands, and everyone is working for their own good, but some simply have an advantage over the others due to their position and the opportunities they have had.

So responsibility? Iran's had revolts for democracy since the 1990's against this brutal regime and more innocent blood has been spilled of peaceful protesters, more declarations have been written, and more reforms have been made in the span between Khomeini's death and today than anything in the US or UK. The Occupy movement couldn't even last more than a few months but if you read on what's going on in Iran there are democracy marches and protests every freaking day, even today, and there are brutal crackdowns and kidnappings going on all over. So responsibility? How about you take the responsibility to educate yourself before talking.

Again weeb, blaming the west for EVERYTHING.

Lot's of oil in other parts of the world too, don't have the problems like the middle east.

This is much more responsibility in one single leader than any leader currently in the West and this is because when a country is in a desperate situation, bolder leaders emerge. The West isn't desperate and won't be as long as it is on the top.

I enjoy writing about these things and educating people like you. So please bring more things up so I can explain further. I can also send you books (written mostly by Westerners, though some written by Middle Easterners too) on the situation.
