They do not usually survive. You can see by the ultrasound from July, he is severely deformed.

I would be surprised if he does make it past a few days, if that.

It is about them. All the gifts on their list were not purchased when the story broke here.

It is fucked up, unless, as someone suggested, they donate them to a couple who need them.

They are being stupid. The baby is never going to see or know anything they did.

As I said earlier in the thread, I think they are hoping against all odds that Shane survives.

Giving him up at 3 months, I would think, would be easier than carrying him full term just to lose him.

Well, he's a big baby and his eyes don't look bad. He does look blue to me.

Maybe they were right. Only time will tell.

I guess it depends if the parents decide before he dies, although without brain activity, I guess they might not survive.

He doesn't look as bad as a lot of the anencephalic babies I've seen. It's hard to tell with the hat on. Poor thing

They did at least once in the Baby Paul case (the youngest person to have a heart transplant) but changed the rules afterward citing the use of anacephalic people's organs as a "slippery slope".
