Re: Expectant Parents of Anencephalic Baby's Bucket List Response Amazes * update
From the facebook page: Prayers for Shane 5 hours ago "Today at 6:15AM, after meeting his entire family and being baptized into the Catholic faith, baby Shane died peacefully in his Mother's arms .. we are so grateful for the time that we were blessed to hold and hug our son .. the support and prayers we have received from all of you have been amazing and we want to thank each of you with all our hearts .. Shane spent his entire life in the arms of people that loved him unconditionally and I don't think you could ask for a more beautiful life then that .. he is home now with the Lord and will forever be our little miracle!" After seeing these photos, I think the parents did what they felt they needed to do. |

Another woman shared her story on their page Dannielle Valcke Anderson 5 hrs · (1:00 ET) "I prayed you would all get more time than we did with our Zoey Renee (1-27-2014 anencephaly) & you did!! The hardest part is leaving your baby. It felt so strange leaving the hospital empty handed. Bless your hearts, Shane is a beautiful Angel! XO" |

I don't think it's selfish at all. Everyone deserves a chance to live. To at least meet the people who love you.

I, too, thought it was selfish at first, but, seeing the photos of Shane after his birth and death, made me change my thoughts about it. The parents did what they felt they wanted, or needed, to do. It is their belief, they will meet again. :) |

Maybe they needed the time with him, but the gifts and money aren't going to make things easier. I know this sounds horrible, but it seems like the parents are loving all the attention. What are they going to do now? Milk the funeral? |
