Are mentally ill people more likely to believe in a religion, or does religion make you mentally ill? That's a question I'd love to know the answer to.
I don't think I am God, I don't believe in God, I don't care for religion. Your comment is a tad insulting.

That's just a couple, there's plenty more out there. Don't shoot the messenger. And note, I didn't say ALL sufferers. Chill out.

“The end of the world is coming in a second…I’m your death,” the woman is heard shouting in the video released online. “I hate democracy. I’m a terrorist.”

She is heard shouting that she has been “cursed” and “destroyed” “so many times.”

“I'm your suicide bomber… I'm going to die in a second…The end of the world…,” she shouted.

Eyewitness Artur Manzhesov told he couldn’t believe that the decapitated child’s head being carried by the woman was real.

“I saw her coming out with the head in her hands. I thought, wow, it must be a replica,” he said.

The man says he heard the perpetrator shouting: “Allahu Akbar… The Russians will be hanged like this. The Russians will be slaughtered.”
She's batshit crazy and with the mentally ill you never know as the smallest trigger can make them go wild.

Re: Breaking News - Woman Held for Moscow Child 'beheading'

Also, Top Gear, I would like to clarify my position on this. I myself have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (now called emotionally instable disorder), my sister is diagnosed with Bipolar, and my grandma had Schizophrenia. I, probably like yourself, have researched mental illness and personality disorders to help me and my family. There is a definitive link between mental illness/personality disorders and religion. What couldn't be distinguished was if religion plays a part in their diagnoses, or if people who have these diagnoses feel more of a spiritual need. Again, that's why I asked the question "do crazies feel more compelled to religion or does religion send people crazy?" I would have understood more if that question had offended you. Although I admit I myself can be crazy, not that I realise it half the time until somebody points it out. But I didn't do the studies and research, so I really don't know how that offends you.

Studies also found that belief in a "vengeful God" or an "angry God" was linked to more anxiety and depression. I truly believe this is what happens with the extremist views of Islam. It makes people believe their God doesn't protect them, is out for vengeance and they end up thinking the world is a dangerous place.

You used the term mental illness sufferers, so you did generalize.

All the links in the world doesn't change the fact that mental illness effects people in a 101 different ways. Everybody is different.

I was offended because your insinuations about God and religion, it's like a red rag to a bull (bulls are colour blind) to me. I despise religion deeply.
Being different doesn't equate to anything really, generalizations are never going to win the day.
