Bin Laden's Son Condemns Killing

Osama Bin Laden's Son Condemns Killing

Updated: Wednesday, 11 May 2011, 10:24 AM CDT

(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Osama bin Laden's family is seeking answers from the United States in regards to what it considers his unlawful killing.

His son, Omar bin Laden, has submitted a letter to The New York Times stating that he and his brothers do not believe there is enough evidence to convince them that their father is dead. If he was killed, Omar asks in the letter why "an unarmed man was not arrested and tried in a court of law so that truth is revealed to the people of the world."

He goes on to state that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic were both put on trial, questioning why Osama bin Laden "was not arrested and tried but summarily executed without a court of law."

The letter threatens that the family will take the issue to an "international forum for justice" such as the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice if they don't receive answers.

The letter can be read in its entirety on the Times website.

The Washington Post said that American writer Jean Sasson, who helped Omar write his memoir "Growing up bin Laden," helped him write the letter.

Sasson said on her blog that while the family thought eventually the U.S. military would capture bin Laden, they did not think he would be killed.

Omar, 30, had lived with the al-Qaida leader in Sudan and Afghanistan but spoke against his father's violent ways, the UK Guardian reported.

"As he (Omar) condemned our father, we now condemn the president of the United States for ordering the execution of unarmed men and women," the letter read, also referring to other deaths such as the reported death of another of Osama's sons in the raid on May 2.

President Barack Obama's administration continues to release details in regards to the raid in which Navy SEALs found Osama bin Laden a compound in the Pakistani city of Abbotabad.

The Los Angeles Times reported that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. has said the mission was legal.

"The operation in which Osama bin Laden was killed was lawful," Holder said. "He was the head of al-Qaida, an organization that conducted the attacks of September the 11th (2001). He admitted his involvement."

well if he condemned his father's acts of and orders that resulted in the death of 1000's of innocent people, he should totally understand the actions carried out by the US Navy Seals.

Re: Bin Laden's Son Condemns Killing

I think hundreds of sons and daughters would condemn what happened to their fathers and mothers on 9/11 too... where they armed when they got burnt alive, crushed, torn apart or did they even have a chance to be prepared for what they had to face ?

Re: Bin Laden's Son Condemns Killing

Exacly my thoughts aswell, he must be on drugs or just be very fucking stupid if he condemns killing of a guy who has killed thousands of innocent people.

Way to go!
They should kill him too so we don't have to hear this fucking bullshit.

I think it's more of a what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander type thing. He can't fathom that we popped his pappy but I'm sure he was in the middle of celebrations when they popped New York.
