A Small Town in Mexico Takes a Stand Against Organized Crime Fed up with disappearances , extortion, kidnapping and murder orchestrated by La Familia Michoacana, residents of Cheran, Michoacan, have decided to face their situation armed with stones, sticks and machetes to demand justice. The indigenous community of Cheran, Michoacan, decided yesterday, in a general assembly (maximum communal authority) not to have more contact with political parties, for which it was decided that the next election of Mayor will be through applications and customs of the region and territory P'urhépecha. The government has lacked to put a possible solution to the situation prevailing in the town of Cheran by the lack of security for the inhabitants of the town of Cheran villagers commented to the newspaper "Cambio de Michoacán" that every day there are more possibilities to choose a new mayor and the old traditions Purépecha said the villagers. The problems that the Cheran community is living though also has to do with the division that has generated the political organizations to divide the community and making their practice of gift, productive projects that are of domination, discrimination and fighting for their communities. The community has suffered such problems due to the state being behind political parties and how to organize all the farmers of the community of Cheran who has long looked at the manner in which they continue to exist as a community is to stay together, united and thus means that in today's assembly was determined that no political parties all based on our own rules as we call traditions and customs so we believe that our community will say again how to settle the municipal authorities So the community. At this time we have deepened the topic, the topic that concerns us is the nest egg and the way self is organized to elect new mayor of the municipality the population is determined, what if this is anything that this division that lead from the state through political parties. Finally the villagers commented Cheran want justice for our community, territory, our dead, missing that were taken alive we want them alive. <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6BQ9pCQ3qHA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: A Small Town in Mexico Takes a Stand Against Organized Crime Mexicans against crime? Good for them, wish there were more of them. Mexico seems (and please correct me if I am wrong) like a terribly violent and volitile place to live. Too many people crammed into such a small area? drugs? They are a good looking race of people too, mexican woman are often hot! |
