Re: Atheist Teen Forces School to Remove Prayer from Wall After 49 Years
That's exactly the point the girl was making. Why should other peoples' beliefs be thrust in her face every time she goes into the gym? I could understand the outrage if it was a private school. |

Re: Atheist Teen Forces School to Remove Prayer from Wall After 49 Years
Well, the article said it's an extremely catholic area. It also said she became an atheist when she was 10. I'm thinking that the people in the area didn't approve of that fact, and were constantly asking her to go to church etc. If that's the case, yeah I'd be pretty choked too. |

Well, like I said earlier in the thread. I was trying to remain impartial, but when that guy said atheists were weak minded I got a bit irritated. |

Re: Atheist Teen Forces School to Remove Prayer from Wall After 49 Years
She is a total bitch and a microcosm of society in general today. Since she is offended, she bitches about it and puts her own selfish needs over those others who might like to have it there. I was raised a Catholic but strayed from the church but I still would not be offended as everyone has a right to do what they would like to in regards to their faith. Just because this bitch doesn't believe in anything she shouldn't ruin it for others who might. |

Re: Atheist Teen Forces School to Remove Prayer from Wall After 49 Years
A total bitch? Are you fucking kidding me? She's tired of religion being thrown in her face, tired of people telling her she's not good enough because she doesn't go to church, and she sees that damn prayer on the wall every day. She can't get the religious idiots to shut their damn mouths, so she does what she can to fight back, and gets a stupid prayer off the wall of her school. Good for her. Religion causes war, death, hate, segregation, and holds society back from advanced and critical thinking in almost all fields. Especially medicine. Religion holds us all back, and the sooner it's viewed for what it is, a man-made device to control the simple minded, the sooner we can all move on to a better world.
