Jeremy Wade (animal planet's River Monsters) episode today shows that the most likely candidate for "Nessie" would be the Greenland Shark, which typically lives at great ocean depths has been found in fresh water lakes, including this glacier lake. It rises from great depths to feed. He caught one on heavy tackle. I assume this would apply to lake Champlain's "Champ" as it too is a glacier lake. I'm still hoping for a plesiosaur.
