Re: Apple Maps Reveals Lock Ness Monster?

It looks like the wake from one of the sight seeing boats they operate. The roof on some of them are painted blue, which would probably make it difficult to spot from above.

Re: Apple Maps Reveals Lock Ness Monster?

Load of bollocks, if the monster was real somebody would have seen it by now, it's not as if the Loch Ness is thousands of miles long and wide
Not necessarily. Judging by the picture it looks as though it could be a large bottom feeder, similar to a Plecostomus, if this is indeed real.

Yes, because there's a chance that the Loch ness monster is actually real.

There actually is a possibility that it does exist. Look how long people said the giant squid was a myth. There are plenty of creatures lurking in the deep waters that we have yet to find.

In the case of this picture, I think the theory that it's a blue boat is the more probable explanation.

Re: Apple Maps Reveals Lock Ness Monster?

Hmm. That means I guess that theres two different kinds of Loche Ness Monsters?

The old school long necked pleiosaur one, and now this guy, that looks exactly like the sucker fish my dentist has in his aquarium.

Re: Apple Maps Reveals Lock Ness Monster?

Just one problem with this 'report.'
It is 'According to the Daily Mail..'
That bastion of untruth and misinformation that terrifies the English middle-class into voting for the most fascist government available at the time.
To emphasize my point, I went to their website and typed the word cannabis, and this was the first 'information' that came back to me -
Cannabis 'kills 30,000 a year'
It makes for a great headline, albeit at the expense of truth and knowledge.
This is not an isolated incident of bad journalism. The Daily Mail has long been a champion of propaganda, hearsay and tittle-tattle. These are the pillars around which it was founded, and true to it's original mission, it continues to cultivate bullshit, rumour and blatant untruth in it's laboratory of deceit. I wish the story about the Loch Ness Monster were true, but until I read this in a real newspaper I remain highly skeptical.

Re: Apple Maps Reveals Lock Ness Monster?

Not photoshopped, just poor quality image, due to the lack of contrast, the boat (most likely white) got "lost" in the track of waves left by the boat itself:
Attachment 534777

Attachment 534778

the "bluish" appearance may be due to image stitching: in some points satellite images are overlayed, and if you overlay an image like this one with another image of the same area in which the boat isn't there but just water, then that's what you'll get.

Layer 1 + Layer 2
Attachment 534779Attachment 534780

Layer 1 = 100% + Layer 2 = 33%
Attachment 534781

Layer 1 = 100% + Layer 2 = 66%
Attachment 534782
And so on.
U are correct. It was proven to be a boat wake. I am a little disappointed.
