Affidavit: Texas Man Arrested for Plan to Murder, Cannibalize Girl
I have no photos. Just a very weird news story from the area of the country I live in: By Stephanie Frazier | October 22, 2018 at 4:46 PM CDT - Updated October 22 at 10:08 PM SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Shelby County man has been arrested after an undercover sting revealed his intent to sexually assault and murder a minor, according to a probable cause affidavit. Alexander Nathan Barter, 21, has been arrested following his alleged communications with an undercover officer regarding his desire to participate in a crime against a minor. The affidavit, filed in Shelby County and obtained Monday by KTRE, details the investigation that led to Barter’s arrest. The affidavit states that Barter authored a post on the dark web asking for anyone interested in allowing him to commit necrophilia and cannibalism to contact him, and gave two encrypted email addresses at which he could be reached. A special agent with the Texas Department of Public Safety who was working undercover spotted the post. The undercover agent responded, posing as an interested participant who was offering his young daughter. Barter allegedly replied, in part, “Nice! I’m in East Texas. How old is your daughter? Can we kill her?” and then went on to detail gruesome things he would like to do to the girl before and after her death. In a chain of emails over several days' time, Barter created a plan to meet the “father and daughter," supposedly for a hiking trip, wherein the daughter would actually be taken to a hotel in Joaquin and assaulted, killed, and cannibalized. He instructed the undercover agent to purchase a burner phone, buy new clothes to wear after the murder, and told him to then go back home to Brevard County, Florida and claim that his daughter had run away from home again. “I’m not going to change my mind about this. I really want to do this,” the affidavit said Barter wrote on Oct. 15. During the investigation, agents subpoenaed subscriber information and IP logs for the person having the username of the person making the plans with the undercover officer. Officers contacted the service provider, and ultimately made the connection to Barter, the affidavit says. On Oct. 19, as Barter was heading to meet the undercover agent and his “daughter,” he was met with a number of law enforcement officers outside his residence, instead. He had, just as discussed, a plastic trash bag and a knife with him, as he said that he would have in one of the email conversations. The affidavit says that after being advised of his Miranda rights, Barter admitted to being the person who had been in contact with the undercover agent and that he had indeed made the statements attributed to him in the affidavit. Because of this, the undercover agent confirmed that probable cause existed to arrest Barter for the following: Criminal solicitation, a first-degree felony Criminal Attempt: Capital Murder, a second-degree felony. Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder, a first-degree felony Criminal Attempt: Sexual Performance of a Child, a second-degree felony Barter is in the Shelby County Jail. |

Re: Affidavit: Texas Man Arrested for Plan to Murder, Cannibalize Girl
While it is certainly likely best for the world that this guy is off of the streets, I will never understand how this egregious level of entrapment can exist in a society that allegedly prizes law and order. He was baited by a LEO into discussing criminal acts that he had not committed and, in fact, would NOT commit, given that the 'victim' in this case is a fictional creation of the LEO. No real human being was injured. No real human being was threatened. How can there be Conspiracy to Commit Capital Murder when NO ONE IS GOING TO BE MURDERED BECAUSE THE CHILD DOES NOT EXIST? You may as well plan the death of fucking Mickey Mouse or Spongebob Squarepants. They are both every bit as 'real' as the 'victim' in this case. Look, I have no sympathy for necrophiliacs, cannibals, or lust murderers. Nor do I have sympathy for kiddie-fiddlers. But the idea of our law enforcement sending people to prison for 'thought crimes' against made-up victims who never existed in the first place scares me just as much. I suspect they typically only pull this horseshit on sad fuckers with no money. Any real lawyer worth his salt should be able to get this shit plead down to misdemeanors. Prosecutor probably ordered a subpoena to check the fool's bank account before presenting charges. Everyone knows the rich are degenerate filth with a thousandfold the dark perversions of the common man. Yet how often do you see millionaires getting tagged for this sort of nonsense? |

I used to work for a volunteer organization that worked with law enforcement. We ran a "honey pot" server that hosted a forum for pedophiles and child porn producers/traders, and we also posed as fellow pedos on the forum. You'd be disgusted to learn how many guys there are out there like this piece of shit. We busted two guys who conspired with us to abduct, rape and kill a kid, and dozens more who conspired to "merely" abduct and rape them. We never ran into the cannibalism shit, but it doesn't surprise me. Sexual sadists are scary dangerous people, and when they're also pedophiles it's beyond horrible. I don't support the death penalty because I don't support executing innocent people, but I would gladly spend a week personally putting one of these fucks to death in my basement in the same way he would do to me if he could.

And looking for someone’s daughter. Meiwes was looking for a volunteer, not someone to volunteer someone else. “You do you” vs “I do you”. That’s a big difference in my book.

Re: Affidavit: Texas Man Arrested for Plan to Murder, Cannibalize Girl
You need to learn how this sort of operation works. It's not entrapment at all. The perpetrator has to make all the first moves, has to suggest committing the crime, has to make the first steps to make it happen -- everything has to be driven by the suspect or he gets dropped as a suspect. If the cop does one single tiny thing that could be viewed as encouraging or suggesting committing a crime, the suspect gets dropped. If you pulled court transcripts for any conviction of this nature I'm pretty sure after reading it all you'd have no doubt there was no entrapment. |

That's completely false, of course, but I'm not sure if you're a shill or just naive.
