A teenager, 13, Dereck Fontan, from Deltona Middle School was arrested on September 15, 2025, in Deltona, Florida, United States, after sharing a video in which he appeared carrying a firearm while reciting rap lyrics about killing. The material was shared among students, causing fear and leading some to skip classes.

Authorities considered the threat credible, and Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood released images of the arrest, in which the minor was taken barefoot to a juvenile detention center. His mother was given gun locks to prevent future incidents.

This was the third arrest in three days for school threats in the county, adding to cases of a 15-year-old at Deltona High School who made a written threat and a 13-year-old student at River Springs Middle School who created a threatening drawing.
