They just passed a law here in Indiana that if your caught texting while driving you will get a $500 fine...I dont think that will curb those stupid teens who just dont care regardless.

They did the same thing here, as well as talking on your phone, or any other distractive activities. A fine + jail time is in order here though.

I find it so hard to believe that the student was in an accident because of texting and not something else. I mean, the student's car was swerving all over the road for quite some time. By then, the student should have realized that texting was dangerous, if that in fact was the case. Rather, I'd have to attribute this incident to drowsiness or taking drugs; not texting.
