2023. On May 17, a serious traffic accident occurred at the Jinan service area on the Beijing-Taipei Expressway, where a speeding black sedan struck, driven by Yu (male,) 58 years old, killed a man crossing the road.

The video shows a car slowly driving on the road in a service area, with two men passing in front of it one after the other. Then, a black car sped up from behind and hit one of the men, sending him flying. The other man was stunned and stood there.

He mistook the accelerator for the brake, causing the death of pedestrian Gao. Yu was immediately taken into custody by the police, and the accident is under further investigation.

The car that caused the accident later came to a stop after hitting a concrete guardrail. A male driver was trapped inside the car, and several firefighters carried out a rescue operation. The concrete guardrail was knocked dozens of meters away by the car and crashed into a parked truck.
