Re: Work Accident, Head Crushed by Hydraulic Press

This is literally one of the most disturbing things I've EVER seen on this site. And like many of you, I've been coming here for years, so... that's saying something.
TheIkyMan, i think your getting soft mate!

The hydraulic ram should still not have functioned with the guard open, you can see him prior to the accident blowing out the guard rail with compressed air it's possible that the safety switch was sticking in the open position so that the press would not operate as it should once the guard was closed but also sticking in the closed position when then guard was opened removing the safety feature if and when he accidently pressed the button!

Re: Work Accident, Head Crushed by Hydraulic Press

I don't see his hand move at all from where he first places it when he has his head inside. There seems to be a hesitation from when button is pressed for machine to close and machine actually closing. I will have to watch kellyhound's video again. I would think common sense would be to turn all power off before sticking your head in, however. Just like when you work with electricity...you shut the main power off.

At 0:54 you can see the dead guy's brain matter squirt up against the other guy's left thigh. That's something you don't see everyday!

Just imagine the sound of the skull caving in. One little mistake cost him his life.
Sticking your head into a hydraulic press doesn't qualify as a 'little mistake' imo

Poor guy. Seems like his buddy was a bit overwhelmed. I sure would be!

Re: Work Accident, Head Crushed by Hydraulic Press

I hope we get some photos of this guy's head. I want to see what that press actually did to him.

Holy shit, I've always wanted to see a death by an hydraulic press. Instant classic.
