"Section 6. The national language of the Philippines is Filipino. As it evolves, it shall be further developed and enriched on the basis of existing Philippine and other languages." "Section 7. For purposes of communication and instruction, the official languages of the Philippines are Filipino and, until otherwise provided by law, English." Re: Woman Killed in QC, Hubby Not Included
Like I said, you could read to the contrary in some references. Did you know that the Soviet constitution promised freedom of religion? I'm telling you how it is in real life in the PI, not how it is supposed to be according to the politicians. The closest thing that they have to a "national language" in real life is Tagalog, and that falls short. Anybody for Esperanto? |

Re: Woman Killed in QC, Hubby Not Included
Is there supposed to be some intelligible point to your quotation? If so, I fail to distinguish it. My wife, having been born and raised in the PI, may be reasonably regarded as being informed on the subject matter discussed above. Would you, perhaps, be more prone to accept the above account if she had typed it instead of yours truly? |

No. But I'm not sure if it would be more convenient for her to express her own opinions herself? To that end, would you happen to have any official authoritative government documents that cite this? |

Re: Woman Killed in QC, Hubby Not Included
Here's a scoop: my wife is not a member of DR; I am. Hence I reported here what she told me. Does that process offend you in some way? There appears to be a reading comprehension issue with your second question. I said that you could read statements to the contrary of what I had just said in places. You yourself provided an example with your quotations from the PI constitution. I then explained the difference between the words in a written constitution and actual practices on the ground. Please reread my first post if you are still confused on this matter. |

Re: Woman Killed in QC, Hubby Not Included
When I initially corrected your claim with authoritative documents, I was expecting to learn something new about this issue as there are, in fact, some scholars who disagree on this matter. The thing is they are professional and credentialed scholars who have spent years researching different issues before arriving at their conclusions. This research is there for all to see and contemplate on. On the other hand, we have a random poster online who claims otherwise with absolutely nothing else to back up his claims other than his "wife" said so because she was born and raised there. Being born and raised in a place really doesn't mean anything here, does it? The bigger issue though (and please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is I don't think you have any skin in the game here. Do you even speak any Philippine language fluently? My guess is absolutely not. So, this issue means nothing to you which is quite obvious in your irrelevant meanderings in the face of official documents. Perhaps, one day you can make an attempt to actually learn the language to an advanced level and we can re-visit this interesting topic. Until then, have a great day! |
