English is also officially spoken in the Philippines, along with Filipino and several regional dialects.
Actually, from a practical standpoint there is no national, standardized "Filipino" language, in spite of what you may read in some references. What you are referring to is Tagalog, the dialect of the Manilla region of Luzon and hence the dominant dialogue. Most Filipinos can speak and understand it to some extent, not necessarily very well in some cases. There are many regional dialogues and these are the predominant languages in their respective regions. All of the above is provided, courtesy of my Filipino wife.
