Re: Westfield Mall Stabbing in Australia
Guns were banned in 1996 not long after the Port Arthur massacre. I imagine knives are the next logical thing people choose to kill with. I'm sure more stabbings happen in Australia that we don't hear about... but because this one was at a mall and involved multiple victims, it's more widely covered by the media. But this has less to do with gun/weapons laws and more to do with humans with mental illness. Where there are humans, there will be violence. Regardless of any laws on weapons.

Perpetrator name was Joel Cauchi https://www.facebook.com/joel.cauchi.9 Suspicious activity in multiple FB groups, serial pattern noticed. Looking for people to teach him swedish, russian, german. Looking for people with access to guns, particularly handguns. Looking for people willing to spend time with him in isolated scenarios. Trying to find traces of motive/reason beyond what meets the eye. |

Re: Westfield Mall Stabbing in Australia
This is a nonsensical thing to say. He was Australian. The attack occurred in Australia. Why shouldn't an Australian be in Australia?

Re: Westfield Mall Stabbing in Australia
The best defense against a knife attack - a lightweight chair. Pick it up with the legs facing the attacker. You have four pointed ends, any of which can be used to slam into his face.
