Seeing as this is Asia, I suspect that it was academic related. An enormous amount of pressure to do well is put on youngsters.

Almost 4am, dad is watching/making sure hes studying and also has a camera directly fixated on his desk so im sure he can be monitored and made sure he's doing school work.
