Vietnam - Young Man Jumps from Balcony to His Death, in Front of His Father
Phu La ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi. Apparent argument with his father about his school/college work.

I think there may have been a miscommunication here, when the dad said "You're grounded!"

Death is no joke either, kid...and it's permanent. Side note: how many people were living there? I saw at least three that didn't seem to care. |

Awww fuck him Hate that mentality "I'll show YOU. Ima kill myself and then let's see how you feel about it!" THAT kind of suicide is the ultimate passive aggression. I like the whole soap opera camera set up theyve got going. All they needed was the cheesy piano music |

The color scheme of that living room didn’t make me actually jump but I walked to the balcony and considered.

Wut I feel sorry only for the father; probably he will feel guilty but he isn't really. |

Re: Vietnam - Young Man Jumps from Balcony to His Death, in Front of His Father
Check the time; dad had him up till 0337 in the morning doing homework. He simply had enough and while I definitely don’t support suicide, I understand and can sympathize with his unfortunate situation. Children in many Asian countries are under tremendous pressure to excel in school and not everyone is cut out for that. Also, the translation of the letter is not entirely accurate (ie Thu is the deceased’s sister and was the little girl at the end, not a boy) and the other people who appeared were the family’s neighbors. |
