Thank you for a reasoned comment, rather than a knee jerk response based on a political agenda.

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
The videotapes of the jogger committing crimes are likely what prevented the immediate arrest. The owner states he has been getting death threats over possessing the evidence of the jogger breaking in to houses so of course he doesn't want to publically release it. When the homeowners get off without charges, that will likely be the reason. The way you know who the real racists are is that they are the ones mentioning he was black or mentioning politics. Notice how no one else needed to bring that up. If the knee high shorts jogger was white or asian, it would be the same thing. Can't break into homes and can't attack people. If you break into houses, you should expect a homeowner to ask you why. If his skin color or politics don't matter, then why are the others on this board bringing it up. Hmmm, who's gaslighting who here? Now reports say that there are four separate times when the jogger was videotaped breaking into homes. Thats pretty specific. That's a lot of jogging and B&E. You'll never see it but if the homeowners that tried to protect their property get off without being charged, that would be a good reason. It really comes down to the laws on citizen's arrest. CCP are allowed and since he aggressive attacked the guy holding the gun, its hard to make it seem like he was a victim. I wouldn't grab a gun off a CCP carrying person, would you? And if so, you could expect to get shot, legally. If only the parents would admit that he made some bad choices, he could serve as a good warning to other youths that like their B&E with a little jogging on the side.

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
Paragraphs. Dead men tell no tales and there is such a thing called presumption of innocence you can't have live in a democracy and take the law into your own hands and expect no repercussions. Assuming the guy was a burglar - you don't hunt him down and shoot him because he is no longer a threat to you, your self-defence arguments turns to murder because your intention was to go grab your gun, jump into your car and shoot a black man in a historically racist state, an a ex-cop to boot. |

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
"Hunt him down and shoot him", except that's not what happened. They approached him with a gun and he attacked them and got shot. Like Pokerplay says, the crux of this is citizens arrest laws and the legality of them approaching him guns ablaze. All of the racial pandering and mischaracterizations of premeditated/cold blooded murder are useless here, but of course will be everyone's focus. |

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
For the I-knows-that-video-is-fake-becuz-of-the-angles idiots out there, this video is not fake. Those redneck scumbags need prison and/or the death penalty. They didn't just kill a black guy. Or a man. They killed another human being because they didn't like him jogging through their neighborhood, which is something he did every fucking day. Burn in hell, redneck dogfuckers!

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
The victim rushed and grabbed the shotgun..what would have happened if he didn't do that. Its true in my state you cant intimidate people with firearms in a citizen's arrest. If its concealed and remains so until a deadly threat presents its self, its legal. In this case they opened carried, intimidated*, then they were attacked by the assailant. Seems like crimes were committed but you just dont grab someones gun no matter the law, no rational human would think to do that. Its not some anti-gun hollywood movie where you disarm someone and go on your way. You will get killed and in this case it the shooting was justified. If he just stayed there and didnt do shit it would have been fine, I can name countless times were citizens held suspects and they were released, it happens every day. It may not feel right being detained by armed citizens but do you really think they were going to put him on his knees and blow his brains out? If there plan was to shoot him why not do it long before the assailant attacks them? There was no intention to go black jogger hunting, the only people who thought of that are the people accusing the shooters of doing it. Like you said, dead men tell no tales. A video only shows what it shows, there is obviously a lot more to this. I just doubt they were jeffrey dahmer black killers and wake up to gear up for black hunting. |

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
I have a LTC in the state of texas. In Texas self defense is no longer a defense if you provoke the attack. If I walk up to someone, or in this case, go looking for them and I unholster my handgun (if it is a long gun - I unsling it) in a manner that is meant to elicit an action from that person (in this case compliance), that my friends is called assault with a deadly weapon. In Texas you better hope it's justified, because you just gave the person you wanted to stop the right and justification to use deadly force against you. You can kind of see this play out in the video. The driver is out and brandishing a shotgun. (Let's hypothetically say the camera man was a separate party with a CCW in Georgia). Then we see the victim jogging, we see him veer away then dash across the front of the truck. The shotgun goes off almost immediately. (In Texas, again, this isn't a justified shot. The victim is unarmed and fails the size difference test. Basically you can't shoot unarmed people unless they are like twice your size or out number you 2 to 1). At the time the victim attacks he is justified to use lethal force to protect himself. He has already been assaulted with a deadly weapon and he is out numbered 2 to 1. Now after he is shot and killed the camera man who I said was hypothetically a CCW holder could shoot both the father and son, and be justified and could claim he/she feared these two were just killing people. Simply based on how the father and son went about this. I look it up and there were no burglaries reported in that area from Jan 01 to the date of the shooting EXCEPT a hand gun stolen from the father's truck that he left unlocked. Against the law to leave firearms unsecure in Texas as well. The guys are making responsible gun owners look HORRIBLE. They weren't defending anything. The father wanted to feel important again. Walking through a construction site isn't illegal...That's why the 911 operator said..."But what is he doing wrong sir?" He lied and said there were a string of burglaries but the crime stats for that neighborhood shows that wasn't true. The father just wanted to force this young man to comply with him and the young man said no, and died for it. many great people in our past have died for saying "no"! |

Oh he was just jogging, oh we all look the same... bullshit. I would’ve done the same thing. You take even a sewing needle from my house, I’ll take your head. |
