in the state of GA, picking up a hammer, if that's what he supposedly did, is a misdemeanor. In the state of GA to execute a citizens arrest, you have to have evidence of an actual FELONY being committed. And, you have to be 1000% sure. You can't give chase to a MISDEMEANOR crime. So even if you had evidence of a hammer being stolen, which you don't, that didn't constitute following him. Also, McMichael operated as a police officer ILLEGALLY for years the GBI has uncovered. That Mayo monkey and his son are screwed. I bet his son will rat on the father.

first of all, calm down, steve1, you are getting excited again. If you value intellectual integrity and critical thinking, then we are on the same side.

You are right, we do not really know what was said, but I do not hear any screaming, do you? Also the evidence suggests that the shotgun duo did not just jump out of the car with guns drawn on the guy, they pursued him in the pickup and were trying to get him to stop. was it a good idea for them to then get out of the car with their shotguns? no probably not, stupid rednecks being stupid rednecks. but that does not make them murderers, like the person I was responding to was trying to claim.

now what do you see when you watch the video? what I see is the victim quickly run up on the suspect, I see what appears to be a struggle for the shotgun. The victim is then killed in this struggle. Maybe you do not consider it an attack, but I think it would be hard for you to claim it was not at least an attempt to take the shotgun that the suspect was legally allowed to be carrying. I don't even think the suspect ever pointed the shotgun at the victim, the victim just immediately ran up on him. looks to me like the victim orchestrated his own death, regardless of how tragic that death is.

I could have sworn I heard from a reliable source he was wearing boots, maybe I am wrong, but does that really matter? The evidence is all out there, I can not do your critical thinking for you. If race is not a thing to you, then why are you so quick to condemn the stupid rednecks who were trying to protect their property from a serial prowler/burglar? There is documented evidence that a prowler exists in the area, and also evidence of the victim prowling around right before his death.

I truly don't care about race, so the race of the actors involved don't mean a whole lot to me when I look at the evidence. If there is evidence this is race related, I might begin to take the race element more seriously. at this time, since no evidence exists at all to suggest this has anything to do with race at all, well...I don't think race has anything to do with it. He for sure isn't wearing boots in the shooting video nor is the man dressed the exact same in the surveillance video from inside the house. They are white shoes, be it sneaker, loafer, etc, I don't know. The tongues of the shoes seem to be pulled up.


Taking a hammer from inside the house under construction would be a felony. Theft, or intent to commit theft inside a structure, building, or dwelling is a felony in most states, including Georgia. In Georgia, if it is a felony of the first degree if it is a dwelling used for residential purposes. Because it was under construction, they might have made that an offense a burglary of the second degree, but that is still a felony.

Hopefully they did make that offense report and process that as a crime scene to leave no shred of evidence left unturned. The truth needs to come out.

I hate to say for either side, because it implies siding with the arrested men or the deceased. The only two sides should be what is lawful and what is unlawful. That is the only way to ensure justice is blind. We must accept that justice that is blind may be uncomfortable.

I'm sure there are people wanting the arrested to be convicted. Others will want them acquitted, which will involve proving the deceased committed the burglary. I don't see how anyone will be happy though. There were bad decisions made that day.

I think the problem this case faces, and more than likely many in the future will face the same issue, is that the black minority has suffered a lot of injustices over many generations. It would seem to me like a difficult thing to ask a black family today, "be patient and the system will do what is right.." I mean you can only expect a population to live in fear for so long in the information age. Now we can see every injustice through body cam footage and CCTV, not just the worst of the worst that makes the news.

I think the mistrust is way too deep. One side is going to have to give a little and I think the black American population is tired of playing nice to fit into the white America's idea of the USA.
