That appears to me to be the obvious place to have some sort of safety net/barrier. WTF and already the Canadians are not accepting responsibility. Wouldn't there be some sort of outside organization that is responsible for the safety of athletes? Placing the blame on the athlete is only part of the problem here. Giving the Canadians extra time to practice on it...I thought America was bad thanks for the shinging the light on the Canadians. That poor guy didn't have a chance in hell of survivng.

I think the idea of steel girders positioned at the perilous corners was a master stroke by the track designers. Where is the interest if they flip into a safety net or a padded foam pit.
