Vancouver 2010 Accident (WITH NEW VIDEO&SOUND!)
Here you go with the video version. From Wikipedia: Kumaritashvili qualified for the Luge men's singles event at the 2010 Winter Olympics, set to be his Olympic debut. On February 12 Kumaritashvili was injured in an accident during a training run at the Whistler Sliding Centre when he left the track and hit his head on a steel pole. He was going 143.3 kilometres per hour (89.0 mph) at the time. His injuries required medical personnel to perform chest compressions. He died of his injuries in a Whistler hospital. EDIT: Following a reply, added new version which got a little sound as well now. Too bad second video has a VIEWER DISCRETION advise that's like 20 seconds, so I'm leaving the first one as well. From people who have to much life or lack thereof: ![]() Now to the actual video: ~~~ |

Re: Vancouver 2010 Accident (WITH NEW VIDEO&SOUND!)
That sled track is supposedly the fastest one now in existence... I guess that guy's not the first person to be in accident during practice either... he's just the only who has died. I also heard that several athletes felt that track was going a bit too far with the speeds, etc, and not properly safeguarded.

Re: Vancouver 2010 Accident (WITH NEW VIDEO&SOUND!)
Bet he didnt expect that shit when he hopped on board. Gotta love the luge. Nothin like a bit of publicity to attract interest in a low profile sport. That is better than him winning the gold medal. No fucker will remember who wins the gold but this funny fuck will be remembered amoung the luging ranks..... whatever his name was. |

Re: Vancouver 2010 Accident (WITH NEW VIDEO&SOUND!)
fucking tragic. RIP and condolences to his friends and family. This could have been prevented, quite a few athletes and representatives were adamant that they applied new safety measures to the track as it was already regarded as the fastest course on the planet.
