Re: USA - Guy Pulls a Gun with 2 Cops on Top of Him

If he wasn’t doing anything wrong and was a LEGAL - meaning in the US as a legal citizen and not a fugitive from justice - he should be allowed to carry the gun however the hell he wants to. The only thing I saw being done wrong was the peel out from the parking lot, and that wasn’t even the guys fault. It was dumb of the driver.

I’m just going off the description. It didn’t say he had a previous record. It didn’t say he was committing crimes. It just said he was “suspected of carrying a firearm”.

This concealed carry bullshit is just a way to keep track of who is armed regularly.

All I’m saying is, I’m for law enforcement. What I’m not for are these power trippy douchebags that completely ignore the constitution and go after citizens for laws that are unconstitutional.

“I’m just doing my job.”
“I’m just following orders.”

If these police officers don’t want to be viewed as mindless robots, they’ve gotta stop acting like them and use some discretion about the “laws” they’re enforcing and the battles they’re picking.

Also, didn’t say it wasn’t a justified shooting. I just said the whole scenario was bullshit if the only cause for it was that he was suspected of carrying a gun. That’s not enough of a reason to confront somebody.
I would agree with you on most of your side. I believe in guns and also support law enforcement 100%. We need them, both.
I will also say that I’ve had some experiences with guns, not being wielded by me, both bad and good. Just for instance I was driving one day, minding my own business and next to me, lower down, I was in a truck, I see a guy in the passenger seat of the car fondling a pistol. Made me uncomfortable as hell. Didn’t appreciate it whatsoever. If you’re out in public and carrying a weapon, no one should ever see it or know it’s there. Too many idiots feel like they’re powerful holding a pistol or a rifle, shotgun, etc and they want to show it off. “Hey! Look at me!” “I’m somebody everyone should fear!” You are, after all, holding the power of life and death in your hands. In the wrong hands that’s bad mojo.
So, although I do understand where you’re coming from you should fully understand what I mean by civilians carrying weapons. When the right person is carrying a concealed weapon you never know it. Only fools show off their weapons/pistols in public. Not properly trained individuals with better things in mind like self protection and the safety of others. With that kids behavior and his actions regardless of anything else he was doing shit he shouldn’t have been doing. Had he been carrying that pistol legally, and, with the right intentions that gun would have never been seen by the police officer and that fucktard would still be alive.

I see what you’re saying too. And truly, there’s probably way more to what was going on than what was portrayed in the video. I can’t imagine they saw the guy and thought, “I bet that motherfucker has a pistol in his bag. Let’s ask him.”

I’m just very wary of government affiliates at this point. All of them. America has become such a crime organization that you don’t know who is for you and who’s against you. There are thousands of good men and women serving as police officers. Who want nothing more than to uphold the constitution and enforce the law accordingly. Then you’ve got the select few that don’t. It doesn’t take much to plant a seed of doubt.

I appreciate you conveying your thoughts kindly and with tact.

Everyone is allowed to have guns.

Cops kill you for having a gun

Umm, no, they kill you for having a gun and not submitting to rule of law (in a way that makes them fear that they’re going to get shot at.) If you obey the law and follow lawful commands you can have and carry a gun all you want (heck even if you’re not allowed to have a gun as long as you obey lawful commands you still get out of it alive.)

You really think police shoot you ‘for having a gun’? That’s idiotic (since if true they’d have to kill a significant percent of the population.)

There are plenty of places where an agreed-upon condition of the CCW permit is that you have to declare to police that you’re carrying concealed. I’m fairly certain this was one of them. Assuming you’re not a felon, fugitive, illegal, addict, insane, wife beater, etc, you have a right to carry, but not necessarily to *concealed* carry. Police can start a conversation with whoever they want. This guy was also probably a convicted felon anyway and thus not even allowed to own a gun (the mostly likely to apply disqualification) let alone carry one concealed. But when he started to flee after being told to stop that’s more than sufficient cause to pursue and investigatively detain (since if he were following the law he’d have either been open carrying or would’ve declared the CCW.) If he wanted to fight the permit requirement the place to do so is court (and assuming he’s not a felon that’s a fight I’d actually have supported him on.)

Discussion and debate are good things. Just because two people see different perspectives doesn’t mean one or the other is wrong. It’s just different ways of seeing things. I respect your opinion even if it isn’t mine.

well atleast his life is over. He faced death accepted it and now he is at peace and his suffering has ended. If only all humans did this and stopped reproducing than suffering in the world would end.

... and the family will sue and get a couple $M because the cops did their job. smh
Nah, that's classic suicide by cop. He was warned, acknowledged the warning, and still reached for the gun. The use of deadly force was 100% justified.
