Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
Here, I think you're a little off base. The majority of healthcare professionals choose to do what they do to help people and make a difference. Sure some of us may lose sight of what is important, but those people really are a minority. As I said in my previous post, it is a jacked up system where pricing doesn't follow the rules of a market economy. Unfortunately, neither the government nor the private sector can easily fix what's wrong. The pay isn't bad, but most of us aren't making a fortune and we have very little control over how much is billed for our services or the price of prescription drugs or medical equipment. We really aren't selling anything and we have to disclose any conflicts of interest. If we're guilty of anything, it's not knowing what those prices are. Even if we do, that's probably not going to change what we recommend because we want the best outcome. The vast majority of doctors are going to prescribe what they believe is the most effective medication based on their clinical experience and empirical research. They don't stand to benefit financially--although that doesn't stop some pharmaceutical companies from trying. Unfortunately, the pharmaceutical companies are needlessly jacking up the prices of commonly prescribed medications for no reason other than they can get away with it. I'm on two medications for the rest of my life. Walgreens wants almost $1800 whenever they forget to run it though my wife's insurance. There's absolutely nothing special about these meds. As for being scared and on your guard, any competent professional should be easy to talk to, willing to answer questions, not offended if you disagree, and willing to discuss alternatives. If not, find one that will. |

This guy's company is notorious for denying claims. He deserved this. Treating people like subhuman scum. This is the result

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
The shooter gave zero fucks, very calm collected, planned. I hate to think somehow the wife was involved, but that’s the first thing that popped in my head.

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
I have a Glock 17 and it runs fine with a properly fitted suppressor. If the handgun has a fixed barrel (i.e. Beretta 92) you can have a direct threaded suppressor, if it has a floating barrel or locked breach (i.e. Glocks) you have to have a piston on the suppressor for it to function and cycle properly. If you put a direct threaded barrel suppressor on a floating barrel handgun you will have issues in cycling much like the shooter here. |
