Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination

He's definitely a very smart individual, but not burying the IDs and gun + suppressor before going into public? Yikes...
I thought the same thing.

I wonder if Brian Thompson was just his first target. That would be the only reason to continue holding onto such incriminating evidence.

A's a result of trying to stay under the radar, he probably didn't realize he had become the focus of a national manhunt and that the case had gone viral on social media.

The fact that he thought he could eat inside the McDonald's without being recognized tends to support this.

He probably doesn't realize he now has 71K followers on X.

He studies Computer Science. It's no wonder he was able to slip past them for awhile. He's definitely a very smart individual, but not burying the IDs and gun + suppressor before going into public? Yikes...
He might just have been "if i get caught i get caught, gonna be a hero for a good chunk of society anyway"

He had 320 followers on X this morning, has over 98K at the time of this post, and is trending big time under the topic "FREE HIM".

Too bad he can't check his phone.

Good point actually, I didn't even think about him not keeping up with the news and what information law-enforcement has. Surely taking out a big CEO he would've knew it would be a huge deal. Probably didn't anticipate this type of manhunt though. Honestly if I saw my photo like that on the news (with the mask down), I would forget about any future assassinations and dispose of the items in a random location in the woods and remember the position.

Eh, I think he either made a catastrophic blunder, didn't know his face was on the news or was planning on doing another hit somewhere. He definitely put a lot of effort in not getting caught.

i really don't see that, unless he live under a rock and use no media at all.. the news is everywhere for a week. You can't miss it really especially if he did it.

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination

Authorities have identified L. M., a 26-year-old tech whiz and former Ivy League student, as a person of interest in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Mangione was apprehended Monday morning at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, following a nationwide manhunt.

M. has not yet been charged but was reportedly found with a manifesto detailing grievances against the healthcare industry, accusing it of prioritizing profits over ethics. Law enforcement sources revealed M.’s online activity reflects anti-capitalist and climate-change ideologies, alongside outspoken criticism of the U.S. healthcare system.

Described as a former prep-school valedictorian, M. graduated in 2016 from the prestigious Gilman School in Baltimore, where annual tuition exceeds $40,000.

Investigators have also linked M.’s social media interests to quotes from “Unabomber” Ted Kaczynski, particularly those railing against the medical community.

Thompson was fatally shot last week outside a Manhattan hotel in what police are calling a coldblooded execution. The investigation is ongoing.
Why are we censoring his name?

He should have plucked his eyebrows too. Or reshaped them somehow. A simple action that would have made it much more difficult for the public to ID him.

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination

Being former Law Enforcement, this guy has obviously had some pretty in depth training on weapons, and how to handle a round jam!! He knew what he was doing. My real thought is why was this CEO targeted by him??
I would think that if he was trained, he would have gone for a head shot instead of a leg and back. But, that is just me opinion.
