Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
I work for a hospital system. The Medicare HMOs are bad actors. They are required by law to provide coverage at a level no less than Traditional Medicare offers. But here's the rub: they have authorization requirements and medical policies (traditional Medicare requires no authorizations) DIFFERENT from traditional Medicare that opens the door for them to deny payment to the hospitals for services provided. The "no payment" landmines are planted everywhere. The hospital cannot just bill the patient when their claim is denied, they have to eat it. I can't go into a lot of detail here other than to say the HMO practices are set up where they win and the hospital loses 95% of the time. Every claim they don't pay is money they get to keep. Now, hospitals systems have had enough are are not renewing their contracts with these payers, which means the patient calls to make an appointment and are told "we no longer accept your insurance". Sadly, John Q Public suffers but this is the ONLY lever the health system has. Our government refuses to get involved. They mandate the HMO to offer the same level of coverage but then say "we can't get involved in private sector" when trying to get the governments help with the HMOs shitty business practices. We don't yet know what happened in this particular case but I'll bet we find out it was someone who, or their family member, needed a particular service the insurance wouldn't authorize (a landmine) and essentially told them: "too bad. Guess you'll just have to die". |

If it WAS a Glock 19 (barrels aren't test fired - so no ballistics) and it DID jam like that, he must not have shot it much, because with a firm grip it's pretty difficult to get a Glock to jam.

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
NYPD just posted security footage which shows most of his face. It shows enough where he would be recognizable to anyone who knows him. It's only a matter of time before he is apprehended or decides not to be taken alive.

Considering how bad the medical fucks people in this country; I'm honestly surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner. It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

Re: UnitedHealthcare CEO Assassination
2 pictures from New York International Hostel where the suspect stayed recently and was photographed without a facemask. A police flier about the search for the shooter was pinned on a nearby lamp post.
