"7.62×25. An awesome penetrate..." This is very true. They are loaded VERY hot and 1400 fps is not unusual for around a 110 gr projectile. Will penetrate a II possibly a III level vest (sans ceramic or metal plate, of course.) We shot this round through one side of a US issue K-Pot. Nasty little bugger, as he found out. |

No it will absolutely not penetrate a lvl III body armor. Unless that armor is faulty ie expired, damaged etc. If it is chambered in 7.62x25 then the velocity range is anywhere between 1230 and 1630FPS. So almost exactly that of a 9mm Para round. The Tok is commonly chambered in 7.62x25 and 9mm. So who knows what this one was chambered in. Furthermore your claim that you punched a hole in a K-Pot with a 7.62x25 round is either complete fantasy or you mistook a child’s airsoft helmet for the real thing. So to answer the question of what firearm it was. I agree it’s a Tokarev but we have no way of knowing whether it was chambered in 7.62x25 or 9mm. The likelihood that either one of those bullets would pass through a real, non expired and undamaged Kevlar soft panel body armor is extremely low. It actually doesn’t appear by the trajectory that it passed through the vest but more that it missed the Kevlar panel all together. Kevlar breaks down over time and soft armor should be destroyed or used for target practice every 3 years. It should never appear or feel floppy as it does in this video. It is my opinion and complete conjecture that the vest is probably a knock off. |
