Re: Two Tourists Frozen to Death in Russia
It's fucking crazy, they're on motorized vehicles, they could have carried enough shit with them to have a right old knees up. Tents, barbecue, burgers, it would have been a lovely night in the cold with all that stuff.

Re: Two Tourists Frozen to Death in Russia
Even if I go camp in a campground, I still have emergency supplies, plus I always keep a permanent kit in my truck. I’d rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! |

Re: Two Tourists Frozen to Death in Russia
Have you ever been to Siberia in winter? If you have not, then you know nothing about what’s possible. I have been near there and it gets EXTREMELY cold! But I would never be crazy enough to actually venture there, even if there were “experts” leading the way.

Re: Two Tourists Frozen to Death in Russia
Good that you pointed out it gets cold in Siberia in winter, I actually thought it was a tropical climate there. That aside, I don't have to go there to know what it is like, do I ? I already assumed the worst case scenario - that they could be trapped in blizzard like conditions and temperatures below minus 50 degrees Celsius, but my point still stands. If you have the right equipment you can easily survive a night in those conditions. The reason they probably died is because they had nothing with them, in which case yes, obviously nobody can survive a night out there like that. |
