How is he still alive? Makes me wonder if animals are still alive when we kill them to eat.. like for example when they slit the animals throat to bleed out

The animals are stunned prior to having their throat cut, its unlikely they felt anything. Cows get stunned with a captive bolt through the head, pigs are stunned with gas, birds get stunned by electrocution
