Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

You would really have to be an idiot to watch that vid and think he DIDN'T intentionally swerve towards him. He may have been only trying to scare him, but got too close. At the very least, he should be banned from ever racing again. A very similar accident happend years ago in New Orleans with race boats. Al Copeland, local celebrity, was in line to have his boat lifted out of the water and was showing off by gunning the motors when the throttle stuck and his boat ran up and over the boat in front of him. The other driver was decapitated. Copeland was banned from racing for that move. Anyway, whatever. That's my opinion at least. And it won't make a difference anyway.

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

assuming there is no telemetry in the cars, there is no way of proving what tony stewart's intentions or view was
it is possible that he tried to scare him and it didn't work as planned, but without proof, there can be no conviction
i blame the american racing series' most - they are the ones who let morons with anger management problems loose on a race track to keep the fans happy with no thought to the potential dangers
then of course mr ward jr is next in blame, because, you would have to be out of your mind to walk onto the race track like he did
and lastly, if infact mr stewart did try to scare him and it went horribly wrong, he is third in line for blame

the problem for mr stewart, is one way or the other, he always seems to be involved in some form of stupidity after a crash - a tragedy of this scale was always going to happen, and i guess the fact mr stewart was involved is not really surprising

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

Its a shame. I don't gve a shit about nascar or dirt track racing, but Tony Stewart was a true racer. He would buy and fund dying race tracks. All kinds.

I have no seen anyone mention it, but it was a night race. Ward not only had a black suit on and I doubt Stewart could have seen him while concentrating to scrub off speed not wreck. Not only that, the odds that Ward realized he would not see a black tire until the last second are pretty good too.

Now.... The rev you hear, was edited. If you find the original unedited raw film on Youtube, you can hear the "rev" was seconds before and sounded obviously closer to the camera.

Also, its dumb , but in the slow mo, it almost lookslike he tried to jump and hang onto the upper wing and lost his grip

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

Nearly the ENTIRE racing world agrees on this, but somehow the rest of the world feels the need to continue going off about shit they know nothing about.

If you think driver is to blame while driving 100mph on a dirt road on a night time race and someone with black outfits jump front of him

It was dark and he was being suspicious. Tony is innocent! He was just standing his ground!

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

Absolutely not. If you expect enough traction on a dirt track to be able to move quick enough when some jackass in all black gets on an active track at night time. Natural selection prevails.

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

I've been around these cars for the vast majority if my 30+yrs on this earth and can tell you that 1)they simply turn right like absolute shit. 2)They handle like shit at low speeds and 3)They don't have great visibility.

Re: Tony Stewart Kills Driver on Sprint Car Track

You guys defending Stewart are a bunch of fucking idiots. 1) when there is a yellow flag, which was very visible to all drivers, you go low on the track. 2) if he didn't see the yellow he definitely saw the cars in front of him go low 3)For those saying the visibility is poor inside those cars, wrong. They couldn't race at 150+ if they were. 4) Stewart is know to be a hot head and has threatened to run down drivers before. 5) yes, those cars do handle like shit, but wouldn't a professional like tony Stewart understand and know how to use that to his ability? Like when passing another car in heavy lapped traffic. 6) WATCH THE FUCKING VIDEO AGAIN!
