I built up the courage to watch this thing again. There is smoke / steam rising from his ass in the final seconds of the vid. I am guessing suicide, the bystander resignedly mentions he tested the 3rd rail and it works. Death by insanity / boredom? Keep randomly screwing around with your environment until something kills you?
