Re: Thai Girl Shot Dead

I would guess professional hit too.

The only thing about the dropped gun was that the mag was dropped separately.

This suggests to me that the shooter got rattled and accidentally pressed the mag release.

I'll go one better. Given the "accidental" nature of the shooting, I'll bet the cop dropped the magazine thinking that a 1911 Colt had a magazine disconnect. Well...a 1911 Colt doesn't have a magazine disconnect and most folks carry a 1911 with the hammer cocked and the thumb safety engaged. Unfortunately, when the thumb safety is disengaged and the grip safety is depressed and you pull the trigger the gun will fire that one shot where ther's a magazine in the handgun or not. I'm fairly sure the cop took out the magazine and thought the gun was safe and wouldn't/couldn't fire. Oops...it does...because 98% of all handguns designed for military use have no magazine cutoff. Poor training and poor judgement caused this murder.

30564U Wait. I'm still a tad confused. Are you saying that you think a cop killed her accidentally?

Yup...they know it was a copper that shot her. But apparently they knew on another somehow. I'm thinking that he was showing her or someone else seated at the table something involving the handgun as an example. See only one shot was fired and the gun's magazine was on the floor fully loaded. So the 1911 pistol had a full magazine with one round in the chamber. In a butt load of semi-automatic pistols when the magazine is removed from the pistol, the pistol will not fire...that means the pistol hasca magazine disconnect. Lot's of pistols designed for civilians have a magazine disconnect, it's been around forever. Pistols designed for military use/sales rarely, if ever, have these disconnects. So they'll fire one round with the magazine removed...the 1911 is such a pistol. I'm guessing he was showing how a crime had occurred to the woman and other guests, put the gun to her head with the magazine removed, and at some point in the example, pulled the fairly light trigger, thus shooting her smack dab in the head. Oops. I think it was initially a very stupid mistake...negligent discharge. Now it looks more like a negligent manslaughter case. This idiot copper is more than likely going to do some hard time. Did that answer your question? It's a very technical explanation...just ask if you're more confused by my lengthy explanation.

30564U No. This was good. I appreciate your explanation. I would never have even thought it could have been anything like the situation you believe could be plausible here! Extremely interesting.
