I agree, to an extent. If the stupidity doesn’t risk the lives of others, let them be stupid. In this case, what if he would have slid out when the ride was higher up? He could have fallen on top of someone else.

I agree with you on that. Essentially he did damage as it was, because emotionally, some of those people will suffer. I don't totally fault him in this case because even as big as he was, he was still just a kid. The ride operators and the adults that brought him there failed him. Just thinking of him falling out while higher...

I don't think they adjusted the seat just for this poor lad. Sounds to me as though they adjusted the safety mechanism on two seats some time ago so that they became the two designated seats for any larger people that came along.

Rather than telling larger people "No, sorry, you're too big", and losing the fares from those people, they just directed them to the two 'altered' seats.

The harnesses would still come down on those seats, but not as far as on other seats. They would still click and satisfy the ride's overall safety system so that the ride would operate.

Think it's more the park's owners/managers that are at fault than the ride operator, though the ride operator may also be somewhat culpable if they followed the manager's or whoever's instruction to direct larger people to these two particular seats.

I agree, the bystandards were a bunch of F-tards. Poor guy was lying there with massive injuries in horrific shock and pain and no one bothered to even kneel down next to him and offer a word of comfort... "paramedics are on their way, what's your name, just hold still". simple words man, too many ignorant folk out there. But it always great when its caught on video!!
