Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
I used to go on a ride like this all the time. Thing is, they aren’t meant for chubby people. The harness comes down over the chest and locks into a metal magnetic latch and it needs to click all the way down. If you’re too big like this poor guy, it won’t click down. It’s be too tight on him. He probably knew he wasn’t fully clicked in but didn’t think the G-Force would be strong enough to fling him out. When these seats lock down properly on you, they’re tight and uncomfortable and don’t budge at all it feels like being in a plastic straight jacket. Negligence on the part of the idiot teenagers who usually work these jobs. Why theme parks hire 15 year olds to operate flying metal that goes 100mph is beyond me. Shouldn’t be allowed to touch that shit without at least a low level certificate in engineering.

This would actually be an awesome gig for a Halloween themed ride. There used to be a theme park near where I lived that was open on Halloween and would have all kinds of awesome haunted houses and shows like sexy ladies swallowing fire while they juggle with it, live outdoor concerts and lots of beer. I could only imagine how frightening this would be, the riders would not expect a thing it’s scare the shit out of them. |

Re: Teenage Boy Killed by Drop Tower in Orlando, Florida
The world is full of people with complaints of "fat-shaming" on amusement rides. People kill/hurt themselves over stupid shit all the time. This is why we have warnings "coffee is hot" "speed kills." I for one believe in letting people do themselves in. Remove all the safety restrictions and just let Darwinism do its work. |
