As an advance level weapon user rule number one
If you know nothing about firearms
Do not touch it until you are in a safe place and being shown how to properly use it or have at least seen instructions on how to use it.

Also just FYI you can always tell someone never held a gun before if once in their hand they put finger on the trigger if not pull it as well and almost always aims it at either their head or someone else’s head.
