I'm obsessed with this fire. Maybe because it was sort of "close to home" for me.  Whatever. I've read three books on it so far and every few months I rewatch the footage because my brain is apparently hellbent on torturing itself. It's still at the top of my list of most disturbing videos I've ever seen.

There are so many parts n the footage that r just remarkable. I think first its a diffrent type of folm cuz its in the US. And its music and a band many of us like. So it hits close to home on how tragic it was.

All staff and everyone responsible for the building and the concert where fucking idiots who didnt think at all. they didnt even have fire extinguishers. Also all the other exits where locked with chains so no one could enter or exit from those other doors. It was disaster waiting to happen. Everyone there was stupid as Fuck!!!!!!!

I think I said it in this thread years ago, but this video remains one of the most terrifying and harrowing on DR, even though it is relatively bloodless. Just knowing what it was like to be trapped and incinerated alive in a mass of other equally terrified humans, ugh, can't imagine. One of the worst ways to go for sure.

Finally got to visit the memorial last Sunday evening. Someone nearby must have had a fireplace going because the entire site smelled like smoke, which got stronger as we approached the main structure. Get this shit - just a block or so down the street is a juice bar called Fuel Your Fire Nutrition  |
