i live in R.I. and my cousin said he could smell the bodies burning from miles away...my brother was supposed to go to that show but didn't, thank god...

Just to expand on how dense the pile up in the main entryway(bottleneck) was, a police officer was quoted saying that a victim actually drowned due to being at the bottom of the pile when the firefighters doused gallons of water into the main entryway.

Bumping this thread just because today is the 12th anniversary of the Station fire. I got to sit through a building code seminar a few years back that showed the video of this fire from beginning to end just to show how fast moving the fire was and how screwed up egress/fireproofing/etc was in the building. The seminar, and this video, are a major reason why I always look for a secondary exit other than the one I entered from when I'm in a public space. If you don't do this already, you might want to start. RIP |
