Re: Single Asian Female Shot by Police (USA) Bodycam
Seriously though this officer led the aggression by pulling out a firearm and screaming to someone answering the door. Nothing she did was illegal and they decided to kick open her door and attack her in her own home. Obviously don't charge a cop with a knife, but if she wasn't a complete psycho I feel she could've won a lawsuit and then could've paid rent lmao. Complete ineptitude of law enforcement yet again

You simply cannot be in the presence of the cops with a weapon in hand. Some may be patient, others in a rush to shoot, but it's no secret, when the cops have a friggin gun on you, it's time to drop any weapons.

Re: Single Asian Female Shot by Police (USA) Bodycam
I mean it's 100% unwise, but it's not illegal to just be holding something. If she was brandishing it in a threatening way then that's the difference. She can barely speak English so maybe language barrier? From what I was hearing it sounded like she didn't trust the authenticity of it being law enforcement and was worried about him being an intruder pulling gun on her. You can kinda hear what English words she was trying to say, but her incoherent screaming made it hard to understand.

Re: Single Asian Female Shot by Police (USA) Bodycam
I'm thinking that if she truly thought he was an intruder, she would have shut the door right away instead of arguing and co-provoking a gun vs. knife fight. Likely what happened is that she had a feeling the notice was coming and picked up the knife to intimidate whatever fella was there to serve it. That decision escalated the situation and probably would most of the time. Now, why didn't the cop just leave when she closed the door? Not sure. Maybe he was there to serve the notice and escort off premises (I don't know, as I pay my bills and am not familiar with the eviction process). Or...maybe the knife, combined with her somewhat hysterical state of mind was enough to legitimately be concerned over the safety of others. Again, not sure, I'm not familiar with that policy. Probably safe to assume that there would be more de-escalations and fewer deaths if lawsuits involving non-lethal takedowns were simply NOT ALLOWED...as well as the lawsuits from families of others that are harmed or killed by the people that the cops didn't neutralize when they had the chance. Only then would you see dogs, tasers, billy clubs, mace, eye pokes, and wet noodles return to commonplace. |

Re: Single Asian Female Shot by Police (USA) Bodycam
No way was she going to go peacefully on eviction day so whether that day or 30 days later that outcome was inevitable. How the fuck no officers got fatally fragged in that clusterfuck of gunfire at the end is insane |

It seems like the piglets escalated the situation, they could have backed off and let her calm down. It seems like they wanted a confrontation. On a brighter note the dog seemed unharmed. |
