She was a doctor who was under serious stress and a guy shows up handing her papers and pulls a gun on her while she's in her own home. Once she closed the door and the papers were served the cops or process server should have left her alone. She's allowed to have a knife in her own home. She didn't lunge at the cop or threaten him in any way. These power hungry cops wanted to kill someone so they used her having a knife as an excuse to bust in and murder her.
