Are they RUSSIAN or UKRAINIAN? The uniforms look like standard issue Russian fatigues. I don't see any yellow/blue tags or anything, either. I have not heard of the Ukrainians wasting their troops by sending them in to die. They have so few that they seem to watch how they use them. On the other hand, the Russian commanders just send people to die, so they can say they pushed the attack, and don't care who gets killed. I vote for this as a Russian event.  |

I wonder if he was really a rotten, cruel, cold-hearted commander or it was just a wacky, violent soldier that too him out. Ukrainians are culturally Russians after all so it stands to reason that they'd be just as violent and murderous when bad. The woman seemed genuinely upset so obviously he wasn't universally hated as commander of his unit.
