"That's what just happened in our unit. The battalion commander was f*cked f*cked. Egor, the company commander, killed the battalion commander Anatolich. Just, damn it, with a shot in the head. They wanted to send us for meat, and Egor for us, damn This is the company commander! The kid decided everything for us." A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot the battalion commander so as not to go into the trench, because he wanted to send them "for meat."

Also aware flagging usually refers to murdering commanders with grenades, but I can't recall any other term. It's been over a decade since I was in the Army.  |

It happened a lot in Vietnam. There were a couple of incidents in the Iraq War IIRC as well.

"Send us for meat" - he is saying a form of a common Russian expression - "пушечное мясо" - it means "cannon fodder." This is what they used to call those first lines of soldiers going into combat that are going to be killed first. |
