Re: Right To Die: Suicide Tourist Craig Ewert's Assisted Death In Switzerland *Mild*
It's absolutely ridiculous that people should have to fight for the right to end their own lives. Hospitals will not offer treatment to people without insurance yet they will prosecute someone for this !!! What the FUCK is wrong with our world??? |

I’m not sure which book you’ve been reading, but the one I read, and was always taught, it was “thou shalt not commit murder”. In the Bible you are permitted to kill another human to save your own life or the life of another, God also permits killing in war. Hell, God even commanded Moses to kill all of the men, women, and children Midianites, save for the virgin girls. So I’m pretty sure God would be OK with someone assisting another person in ending their suffering. Also, since murder is the unlawful, malicious, and premeditated killing of one human being by another, this does not qualify legally either. |

If a person is suffering, and has no hope of alleviating it except by death, they should have the right to choose that option. A quick, painless death is better than lingering for weeks or months awaiting the inevitable.

Re: Right To Die: Suicide Tourist Craig Ewert's Assisted Death In Switzerland *Mild*
My best friend’s mom just died last month with ALS. She had begged her daughters to assist her in a suicide. They wanted to help their mom, and would have, but there’s that issue of its legality. I believe everyone should have a right to choose. It’s really easy for law makers to say no, but they’re not the ones who have to live with the illness, die with the illness, or make their loved ones watch their agonizing decline. It’s like the seatbelt, or the helmet laws. I know the risks of not using them, but I’ll be the one flying through the window if there’s an accident. What business is it of yours? Government is not going to stop until they take all our rights away one by one.they have too much control already. Land of the free my ass! You let me worry about my life and I’ll let you worry about yours. |
