Retired Police Officer Is Accosted by Robbers, Steps Back, Shoots Robber Dead
São Paulo, Brazil A retired military police officer fought back against an attempted robbery and shot one of the criminals on Wednesday morning (12/3) in Vila Jaguara, in the western zone of São Paulo. The suspect, 20 years old, was taken for medical care but did not survive his injuries and died. Security camera footage shows the moment when the officer is riding his motorcycle and is approached by three men who arrive on two motorcycles. In the recordings, the retired officer appears to surrender at first and steps back, allowing the criminals to get close to the motorcycle. Seconds later, he draws his gun and fires, hitting one of the assailants in the head. The other two suspects flee immediately after the shot. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the injured young man was assisted by a rescue team and taken to Pirituba Hospital, but he did not survive his injuries. The suspect's cellphone and the revolver used by the officer were seized and sent for forensic analysis. The Civil Police are carrying out investigations to identify and locate the other individuals involved in the attempted robbery. |

That was a waste of a trip to the hospital. Should've taken his ass straight to the morgue.
