If the tape itself has physically deteriorated then why wouldn't both the audio and visual be affected? Besides, although the audio is garbled it's pretty obvious what she's saying after you've listened a few times. For someone to have recreated the lighting so accurately three obvious explanations follow: 1) Someone has gone to great trouble and expense to recreate the now defunct studio in order to reproduce the setting so accurately - with no obvious motive. 2) It's the real studio but someone with the foresight to see that this would be of huge public interest one day used an actress to recreate the scene soon after the actual suicide. Now, in 2017, they finally think the time is right to complete their masterful plan. 3) It's the actual suicide footage. I know which I think is most likely. |

Long time lurker, first time poster... all because of this video. Christine Chubbuck and her story was one of the main things that made me become fascinated with the morbid curiosity. That being said, after all of the research I've done over the past several days since this video appeared, I believe it is a fake. A damn fine one, too. You really have to give them credit because there are so many things that make it look to be authentic. But there are those couple of glaring red flags, such as all of the ones that kellyhound painstakingly pointed out in their earlier comments. Even with those inconsistencies, I remained optimistic it may still be the true video, and that some of the facts may have just become muddled over time. Then I came across this just now, and it may put a nail in the coffin since it's coming from one of the few who actually witnessed it and is able to talk about it this day:  · |

It's not the final nail at all. Assuming that's even the real Gordon Galbraith he could be mistaken or lying to protect the family - as others have done for years in trying to keep the footage concealed. As has been pointed out elsewhere, Galbraith makes at least one factual error in that post as VCRs were available at that time - they were just very expensive. Sally Quinn's report also states there were two cameramen (whether that means two cameras is unclear). He, along with the rest of the "fake" crowd, have still failed to explain how the studio conditions could be recreated so precisely. I refer you all again to the comparitive pictures and specifically how the light falls between the readings rests. To dismiss the entire video as hoax based on a flawed post from an unverified facebook account is irresponsible. |
