dad pretty much skipped all the formality bullshit and years of appeals and court hearings and $$$$$$$ and nonsense and just went ahead and did what every red blooded person knows was justified.

He was friends with the police, so with being tipped off by them that meant that, thankfully, no police officers ended up injured too; it would have been a shame if the cop escorting that "human" ended up injured or dead. Amazing that the dad kept his composure to make his "one shot, one kill" at exactly the right time  Remarkable self-control; the adrenaline must have been surging through his veins at that time. Justice was indeed served that day;)
