Police Sergeant Who Attempted to Confront Bank Robbers Is Shot Dead
In Baní, Peravia province, Dominican Republic, a police sergeant, identified as "Carcaño", fired at criminals who were preparing to rob a bank. However, the robbers responded in kind, and Carcaño was himself shot dead.
