Don't forget the institutionalized circumcision and capital punishment over here, unique among first-world countries.

Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
You are a complete fucking idiot. Someone who just fled the scene of an accident, was reported as possibly being suicidal, had two knives and walked towards a cop who had his weapon drawn. The dude was asking to get shot, and he got just what he wanted. I would have shot him also. |

I'd like to see you try to shoot someone in the leg while your heart is racing and your adrenaline is through the roof. The cop told him he would shoot him, and told him over 4 times to drop the knife. Shooting in the leg at this point wasn't an option. Who knows, the guy could have ran at the cop and stabbed him. |

Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
Well that went well didn't it. Don't the police there have stab vests, side handle batons, pepper spray and tazer ? Given the circumstances the officer was well within his rights to use lethal force. He could have taken a risk with his safety and attempted another way to resolve the situation, but by the sounds of his voice he was genuinely scared and I can't blame him for firing his weapon. When an officer tells you to do something or he will shoot you, then it's time to listen to what he is saying. Not only that, but after the warning he continued to approach the officer. That was a bad fucking move. When the cop has to focus so intently on what is happening in front of him, he can lose his peripheral awareness, and anyone could pop out from the side and grab him, then he's fucked. He's being forced to walk backwards by the suicidal man, and that also is fucking dangerous in an unknown situation. I feel there could have been a better outcome to this, but it also could have been very much worse, and I can't judge a cop when I'm typing from the safety of my armchair smoking a fat reefer. Who am I to judge ? This was just a tragedy, looks basically like the guy committed suicide-by-cop, in a conscious decision. I would bet my wages that the officer went home that day and cried about what happened. A pure shit day for everyone involved really. |
